 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is now the second time I’ve used Sunshine Coast Diesel Tuning, and once again Ben has saved me a heap of money and done an awesome job.

My cooling system was being pressurised by exhaust gases. I’d taken it to another mechanic and was quoted around $1,500 for a new EGR cooler, or potentially around $5,000 if it turned out to be the head.

I called Ben and explained what was happening. He told me to bring it in and said he was confident he could fix it for around $500.

Picked the car up yesterday — problem completely fixed and the bill was $500, exactly as he said.

Ben really knows his stuff. What I appreciate most is that he actually diagnoses the problem properly instead of just throwing expensive parts at the car.

After using him twice now, I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else for diesel tuning, upgrades or this type of work.

Unreal couldnt ask for a better tuner I called last minute literally last minute in deer need of a tune so I could go away and he fit me in and got it done took the time to explain what goes into it and even showed me what the next step is for good power and he was quick and I can’t fault a single thing about the tune highly recommend and will be back soon

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I just had a tune done on my Next Gen V6 Ranger.  The results far exceeded my expectations with both torque & fuel economy.  I did not expect the change to be so great especially when not towing.  This was the main reason I had the upgrade.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Took my VW Transporter in to Ben for a tune and couldn’t be happier with the result. Ben was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything properly, rather than just chasing big numbers.

The van has noticeably more power and torque and feels much better to drive, while still keeping the tune sensible and reliable. I particularly liked that Ben was focused on a smooth torque curve and the long-term reliability of the vehicle.

Communication was excellent, the service was professional, and you can tell Ben takes pride in his work.

What vehicles can you tune?

We tune a wide range of ECU-controlled vehicles — diesel and petrol. That includes cars, 4WDs, light commercials and trucks, plus many motorcycles and marine applications (boats and jet skis). If it has an ECU, there’s a good chance we can tune it — contact us with your make/model to confirm compatibility.

How long does a tune take?

Most ECU tunes are completed within 2–4 hours, including a baseline dyno run, the calibration process, and a validation dyno run to confirm gains. however we do like to have vehicle booked in for 24 hours.

Will a tune void my warranty?

We always recommend checking with your dealer. Our tunes are conservative and designed to stay within safe parameters. We can also provide a stock-revert option if needed before servicing.

Do I need a dyno tune?

While not mandatory, we highly recommend a dyno tune. It allows us to precisely measure gains, monitor safety parameters like EGTs, and tailor the calibration to your exact vehicle setup.

What kind of power gains can I expect?

Results vary by vehicle, but typical gains are 15–25% more power and 20–30% more torque at Stage 1. Stage 2 with supporting hardware can see even larger improvements.

Will tuning increase fuel consumption?

In most cases, economy improves or stays the same under normal driving because the engine operates more efficiently. Aggressive driving will always use more fuel regardless of tuning.

Is tuning safe for my engine?

Absolutely. Our calibrations are developed with safety margins in mind. We monitor EGTs, boost, rail pressure, and injector duty cycle to ensure everything stays within safe limits.

Can the tune be reversed to stock?

Yes. We keep a copy of your original factory file and can revert to stock at any time — for example, before a dealer service or warranty inspection.

Do I need any modifications before getting a tune?

A Stage 1 tune requires no modifications. For Stage 2, we typically recommend a quality exhaust and intake system to support the increased airflow and power.

What's the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2?

Stage 1 is a software-only tune using factory hardware. Stage 2 is calibrated to take advantage of aftermarket modifications like exhaust, intake, and intercooler upgrades for greater gains.
